Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

repeating history

Dude, history is repeating itself.

"Little Ice Age: Big Chill", a documentary on the History Channel commented that conditions before the little ice age was that the climate was so warm and mild that wine making grapes were growing in places such as England.

I really remember this incident because they found French law documents that tried to ban imports of English wine (supposedly because it was so good).

Several hundred years of cold weather followed.

Like I said earlier: history is beginning to repeat itself.

unhappy house

So I was gone for a long weekend for Labor Day weekend. Came back, then left for the weekend for my nephew's second birthday.

Came home after Labor Day, and cats were fine. Went to work the next day, and they were so happy I came home at the end of the day.

Came home this weekend, and the cats were much more unsettled. Adira figured out that she can get to more of her toys if she tips the toy box on its side instead of picking out one toy at a time. Toys were scattered all over the living room. One of the critters also got on my baker's rack and knocked everything over.

Part of the problem was the feeder got stuck and was pretty low. And the litterbox got stuck and stopped working yesterday.

Poor kitties. Maybe I should start experimenting travelling to my new home with them...

move with cats

I haven't moved with cats at all. It's only a two and half hour drive, but I think that I'll need some Xanax for all of us!!

Serious.

The kitties will have some adjusting to do as well. I'm going to live with my folks while I get a job and build up some money. (Part of the "behind me 110%").

No outdoor adventures for the kitties. Too many bigger critters that would love a fluffy appetizer. Not a big deal since they haven't spent more than five minutes outside since May.

Plus there's the "gentle giant" of a puppy dog. Okay, he's not a puppy, but a 15 year old dog. He's had to deal with cats when I lived there in high school. But my kitties aren't used to a big slobbering dog embracing them and giving wet kisses. I think he's too old for that now. Dog tolerates the attention of a toddler, so I'm hoping that cats and dog will come to a mutual understanding.

bye to tucsonjenn

Wow.

Had several long talks with my folks. They're behind me 110%.

Time to move on, and move past Tucson.

I'll be gradually moving up the Phoenix area. Which is probably better or worse that way. I suppose it'll depend on how quickly I can get my stuff together, and how much I can move on my own over the next few weeks.

I'll still work at my job, but start going through the motions of wrapping things up. I really like working with the clinical nurse, which is why I stayed as long as I have been.

Boyfriend isn't too phased by my news. It's not like I'm moving away from him - possibly closer is more like it. Hopefully it'll get his butt in gear to move to Phoenix too.

Already found a decent job that suits my abilities and specialities. It asked for resumes three weeks ago, and since it's still listed, there haven't been any takers. So I'll try and toss my resume to it.
