Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

Nobody seems to care about backwater Tucson

I know it's exciting to report on the governor elections in New Jersey and Virginia (if Democrats or Republicans won). But Tucson had its three (of six) city council seats available. Two seats the Republican incumbants were challenged. In reflection of outcomes in other states, the incumbants lost.

So Tucson has 5/6 council members that are Democrat, one independant, and a Republican mayor. Go figure.

I know Arizona is considered a red state. But if you break it down by county, Maricopa county (home to Phoenix) tends to vote Republican. Pretty much every other county votes Democrat. But since the Phoenix area out populates the rest of the state, we get labelled a red state.
