Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

always happens when you don't have the time for it...

I've been in a frantic rush to clean, get rid of stuff, and finish laundry (and subsquent ironing) last night. When someone knocked on my front door, I made my way to the door, deliberately avoiding the cord for my vacuum cleaner.

In my avoidance of the vacuum cord, I forgot about the cat condo. So my pinky toe got a full frontal *wham* on the base of the condo. I had already wacked the toe on the other foot, and this hurt A LOT more.

But I was able to get around barefoot and finished putting new sheets on the bed, more cleaning. Then I went to bed. My foot was still throbbing pain, and every time the toe made contact with the sheets or the bed, I'd wake up hurting. Every time I try and move it, the sharp pain says "bad idea - don't do that!"

So I'm thinking I might have broken it. I'll probably go to urgent care this morning before my biopsy appointment. Not that I have the time for it, but if they can do something to secure the toe, I'll be willing to give up my morning of work.

But it looks like a hike in Sabino Canyon this week with boyfriend will be out. He'll be here late this afternoon....
