Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

moving distress

Saturday was probably the most distressing day for the fluff and furr. All but two of their sleeping spots were loaded in the truck and sent up to Fountain Hills.

One sleeping spot is the coffee table will be loaded in the truck and taken to Fountain Hills Saturday with the kitties. The second one is the bed, which we'll come back for next Monday.

In the past, Adira got to rest her fluffy little head on my second pillow. I don't sleep on the second pillow, so it's all for her to shed all over. Magnum then would sleep by where you'd put the feet would go if you were sleeping on the second pillow.

When I came home yesterday, Adira was in the laundry basket. I found Magnum on her pillow.

Every time I woke up last night, it alternated between Magnum and Adira on the second pillow. I think they'll fight all week over it.

Don't worry, most of your sleeping spots, and more will be waiting for you in Fountain Hills on Saturday.

crazy Italians

So when I got up to Fountain Hills on Saturday, I noticed my mom had written down an email address. The person had a familar last name.

"Mom, it's comcast.net, not comcast.com"

"Oh, well it's for you anyway. She was just diagnosed as a celiac, and I promised her I'd have you get in touch with her."

"She has the last name of "Crazy Italians in Chicago", but I don't recognize the first name. Is she related?"

"By marriage. But she's Italian too."

Granted, my Italian has been watered down to 1/4, but I wondered if Italians have a higher predominance of the celiac genes. Will have to look into that....

Kinda ironic if it were true.
