Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

Speading holiday cheer until it hurts

It seemed like a good excuse to see an old friend of mine. She moved to the other side of town (about a 30 minute drive in good traffic), so this was also the first time to see her house.

After seeing her new house and all the work they've done so far, we decide to get some holiday shopping done. Thankfully, my list of holiday shopping was in my purse. So we braved Target, but we both very successful in finding gifts. We didn't really have much luck at Pier One, but her fortunes changed at a florist store with a beautiful pointsettia, wreath, and paperwhites display.

I was able to cross off my nephew, my matchmakers, sister, and one thing for my boyfriend. Ironically, the thing I'm the proudest of is a pack of indoor extension cords. It was a pack of 4 6' cords (important since I misplaced mine). The sticker on the shelf said $6.00, but the price on the package was $3.99. So I paid close attention when she rang that item up and SURPRISE it rang for $1.99!!!! So I can now afford to scatter extension cords throughout my place to find when I need them again.

She's got things more difficult than I do because he mom, sister and niece will be staying with them for Christmas. But she got gifts for her niece, brother, sister, and lots of decorations (wrapping paper, animated bucks, etc.) I get off lucky and will get to sit on the couch next to my pregnant friend and help tell the guys what to do.

But I skipped breakfast, and we shopped through lunch. I then braved cross city traffic only to discover that where a Popular store once stood was a rubble with a Bobcat *grrrr* So it's pushing 3:30, and I'm feeling very low on the blood sugar. So I go to a grocery store, and get home just past 4:00.

So I spent a lot of money, ran around to the point of physical exhaustion, and my naked Christmas tree that I setup last night is asking for decorations. I just would like to know how I ended up with 500 blue mini lights...
