Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

day of wrongs

I felt that nothing could go right today. It started when I got home yesterday. In my (futile) attempt to avoid the downpour rain from the monsoon visit, I left my commuter travel coffee cup in the car since my free hand had to hold the umbrella.

Today at work, the only thing that possibly went right was that the boss was in a good mood, and wasn't breathing fire and brimstone like yesterday. I had figured out some collaborator's data the first two steps, but how they got to the third and final step was eluding (and frustrating) me.

Couldn't handle the paperwork for the end of grant just right.

Harvest didn't go as well as I had hoped. Still salvagable, but I'm not 100% confident of the data to take to boss.

Back was causing me pain while harvesting. Not sure how I can improve things except for the obvious answer - don't do bench work. That ain't happening unless I can get disability.

Phone crashed twice in the AM. On hold time was reduced to 10 minutes, but got disconnected with the data device techinicans. Got run around once I talked to them that they had no idea who I talked to yesterday. But got a promise that I'd finally get to exchange the phone. Plus I bitched and moaned enough that when I showed up, the paperwork was all done, and two minutes later, I was out of the store with the new phone.

I started this post because the lightning had been going on for almost an hour. I then saw a bright light of a bolt of lightning immediately followed by a crash that shook the walls and uprooted sleeping kitties. So I thought that it was a dry storm.

But the cell that followed behind it is pouring buckets of rain down. Good thing the kitties were already up from the last cell passing overhead because the walls shook again.

But I left my hotsync cable at work. So I won't know until tomorrow how well this phone will work. *sigh*
