Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

Reality TV

On the drive to San Diego last week, my coworker was telling me about this show on Discovery Channel. It's about a guy dumped in the middle of nowhere and he has to survive on his lifetime skills for almost a week.

Well in my channel surfing, tonight I dscovered it was on. It's called "Man vs. Wild". Tonight's episode he jumps out of a plane into the Rockies. No knife, etc. On the parachute drop in, he gets caught up in a tree.

It's kind of interesting. He made a shelter, fire, and made food from a dead rattlesnake and millipedes. For desert, he gets visited by wildlife (bear?).

For starters, he makes it look WAY too easy. Making a fire from sticks and kindling is something easy to an Army Ranger, but not for someone like me that needs a match (better yet, an Aim and Flame). And I've seen my Dad kill rattlesnakes. Even though he has a spade and a long handle, it takes a few good wacks. Something I don't want to try with rocks and sticks.

But it's good to show that you can survive with not even bare essentials. For those that cry in disasters for the government to help could take a few notes.

Another reason to go independant

I'm listening to Arizona Spotlight, a local news show on the station that plays NPR.

They just did a story on a Mastercard that would give a bit of money with every purchase to the Democratic party. The Democrat interviewed said he hoped every registered Democrat in Arizona would get a card.

First of all, I don't WANT a credit card. I don't need it.

Second, if I truly wanted to support the Democratic party, I'd contribute money.

I should change my affiliation to the Independant party. If Goldwater Jr. keeps up the fight, I probably will.

Sleepwalking again?

I finally figured out how to get the pictures on my phone camera to the blog without internet access on the phone itself.

Here's what I woke up with this morning. A big red welt on my pinky finger in the middle of the finger, and a smaller one on the side of the inside of my palm. It doesn't itch, but you feel a hard lump where it's red. It doesn't look like a typical bug bite (normally they itch for at least a while).

Are we sure it's not Monday?

What's new

I have been soooooo tired since I got back Wednesday night. The fluff and fur monsters aren't helping with their tag team approach to bug me throughout the night demanding attention.

Just glad it's Friday.

Also my right side of the face is all funky. It's not painful unless I touch any part of the face from the eye to my upper jaw. It mostly feels that there's a few fingers just constantly pressing on that side of my face.
