Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

Friday funny

Okay, I had heard about this yesterday, but didn't read an article about it until today so it still counts.

It's cool that a hunter found a polar/grizzly bear hybrid in the wild. The first reported case in the wild (had been done in zoos successfully). That poor hybrid must have gone through its teen period knowing he was different than the others. Wonder how difficult breeding in the wild would be for a hybrid like that....

But here's what made me laugh:

Kuptana, a guide from Sachs Harbour in the Northwest Territories, was tracking with Idaho big-game hunter Jim Martell, who paid $45,450 for a license to hunt polar bears.

The DNA results were good news for the 65-year-old hunter, who was facing a possible $909 fine and up to a year in jail for shooting a grizzly.

The Northwest Territories Environment and Natural Resources Department now intends to return the bear to Martell.

Techinally it was half grizzly. So shouldn't he have been fined $454.50 and serve six months in jail? And hunting polar bears sure can be an expensive hobby.....
