Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

Am I being abducted by aliens???

The biggest problem with leaving my balcony door open at night is that the risk of biting bugs get in. When I woke up this AM, Adira chased out a fairly big horsefly (I think that's what it's called). But I thought that most of the bugs went away at night. Besides, when it gets down to the 60's, I'm snuggled under my blankets, so I thought that bugs weren't a problem.

This AM, I woke up quite sluggish (nothing new there). As I slugged down my first large cup of coffee, the back of my lower left leg started itching. I found three decent sized bites. I didn't think I was that tired that my leg became a breakfast feast for biting creatures. As I found a tube of hydrocortisone cream, I thought that was the end of it.

An hour later, a bit the size of the three bites combined appeared on the front side of my upper right leg with a rash surrounding it about the size of two quarters. After liberal applications of the hydrocortisone, I'm beginning to wonder what the heck is going on. To be sure that no more bugs feast on me, I close up the place. Okay, that should be the end of it.

Two hours later, another bright red bite shows up on my right knee. Okay, now I'm getting pissed off. More hydrocortisone cream, and reapplying to my other areas.

Then the afternoon came and went with no new bites. I got about a half hour nap in peacefully. Then around 6:00, three MORE show up on the inside of my upper left leg. These three are in a nice triangle pattern. So either I have geometrically minded bugs, am really frickin' unlucky, or showing the marks of alien abductions. If I'm just an "all you can eat buffet" for bugs, I'm unlucky since I didn't get a single bug bite in my trip to Chicago this summer.

In case you want to want to stop laughing at my plight, check out this story on the possible adaptation for cars to work with hydrogen. I got another bad itch, so I hope I'm not sprouting another bite.
