Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

Breakfast

I had a couple gluten free "Eggo" waffles for breakfast. Worked through lunch, and had a little bit of dinner by eating scraps of this and scraps of that.

Since I worked hard on cleaning a lot of the sludge in the oven, I'm scared heating something in the oven and having it explode. Plus, I'm wary I didn't get all of the oven cleaner off the burners and the process of turning the oven on will spew toxic chemicals all over my dinner.

So I've got breakfast on the brain.

Already.

What are my options? No Burger King. No Jack in the Box. I don't think Arby's is open for breakfast. I know Wendy's isn't. For some stoopid reason, everyone treats their hash browns to make them no longer gluten-free. I guess I can get a fruit and yogurt parfait at McDonalds if the truly keep their granola separate. Might be able to get some lukewarm potato cubes from the cafeteria at work with a side of runny scrambeled eggs and toss a twice reheated sausage to boot.

Might have to splurge on an omlette from the grill at work. Oh wait, they might coat the grill with something based in grain alcohol - don't want to make myself sick.

*sigh* At least tonight I'll have my rumbling stomach to keep me company all night.

Grant, and I care....

Okay, got a lot of work banged out today.

I'm at the point that I will add in the new references, and update the reference list tomorrow.

Then finish the annual report.

Then try and pack up the desk stuff, and try and enjoy the last bit of my time in the lab.

I was a bit touched that my boss has made discreet inquiries about doing something for my last day. But there's few secrets that can be kept in my department, so naturally I heard about it.

Oh my Gawd!

Seems an appropiate title since "Scrubs" is on in the background.

Someone posted on the celiac listeserv that Anheuser-Busch is planning a gluten-free beer around the end of the year. I can't confirm this on their website. It was posted by the group moderator, so I know she wasn't posting this on rumor. Supposedly calling it Redbridge.

I'm personally happy that a mainstream brewery company is going to make something for celiacs, I'm also personally a bit frightened that it's Anheuser-Busch.

Guess I'll have to check back later.
