Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

waiting for lightning

I finally decided to eat it, and invested in a good tripod. Using the wall for the fireworks on the 4th of July made for mostly disappointing pictures.

So now I just need a good lightning storm to catch some awesome pictures. The summer rain season is here, but off to a quiet start. Only one good lightning storm, and it got started at 11PM, and didn't feel like dragging out my gear at that time of night.

At least I'm not chasing tornadoes.

that's my line!

Dad's getting better. More tubes out, and he's walking around more every day. He finally asked for his glasses so he can see. He's got a lot of cards to read. We're good, and if they came in snail mail, we didn't open them until he felt up to opening them.

Not that these cards are going to be any surprises. Either they were given to us by person, or they wrote a return address on the snail mail card.

All but one card. It came today addressed to my dad, and the address was in Scottsdale, but neither of us recognize the address.

As my mom was grabbing the cards, newspaper, etc. to take to my dad tonight, I asked if she was going to open the mystery card.

"No, it's probably from his girlfriend. I'll save it for him to enjoy."

I know she got the girlfriend line from me. Since boyfriend and I have been in a long distance relationship separated by three hours at times, there's many days where we "just miss" one another. So I started to joke that I missed talking to him last night because he was busy placating his other girlfriend.

I know he's not fooling around. But I still love teasing him about it. And it goes both ways, and for me having guy friends, it's more plausible. But boyfriend makes me so happy, I only need him around here to forget about all other possible suitors.
