Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

Well, found out that I have to wait until next Tuesday to pick up "The Two Towers". "Chicago" comes out tomorrow, and I'm debating picking up a copy (probably will anyway).

Drove up to see my best friend from high school this weekend. I wish there was another way to go other than I-17, but there isn't. Every time I've been on that freeway, I see an accident. Too bad the alternate routes are at least another hour on the travel time. But it was great to see her. First of all, it was a nice vacation from the high temperatures. But, it was fun to joke around, give her (and her husband) a long awaited gift and see them enjoy it. It was even fun helping them with small stuff that is for their new house. We talked a bit. It was nice to hear how much better I was since I had the Motor Cortex Stimulator implanted. She also brought up something I had thought about a long time ago (the "what-if" scenario). But I'm happy with how she found the perfect guy for her and how we keep in touch.

I still had about 1/3 full a bottle of Fluori-Methane which has helped with the big flare-ups. It delivers two medications (Dichlorodifluoromethane and Trichloromonofluoromethane) in a pressurized spray that feels cold on the skin. But the cold feeling is a short-acting anesthetic that helps with injections, or with myofacial pain. It helps me by forcing the facial muscles to relax, which calms the rest of the pain down. I should try and remember to ask for a script for another (just in case).

I woke up at 5:00 AM with an almost pounding pain in my right upper cheek area. This morning, it persisted and was in the temple area as well. On mornings like this, I'm very slow out the door. I can get my work done (I'm just a bit slower at it). When the naseua hits, I have medication (Zofran) that will help me not to throw up. But I have to find a way to stop this pain (somehow). A sudden drop in the air pressure will help the pain (but that doesn't happen until later in the afternoon). About all I can do for now is to use the Fluroi-Methane, and go easy on myself. Sorry if it doesn't make much sense, but the pain tends to do that. (I'll try and update later in the day as to how things go...)
