Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

glad the day's over with

Okay, so it's pushing 6:00PM, and I'm still in the tissue culture room. All I have to do before finishing for the day is to set out two Surgifoam(TM) sponges, then close up the room.

So I'm ready to set out the sponges. First I have to put on some gloves. But the tissue culture room is out of the gloves I need. Great, so I have to go back and get some gloves from the main lab, three doors down.

Now I have the gloves on. Next I need to get a couple large sized petri dishes for the sponges to soak up the media. But there are no large petri dishes in the tissue culture room. Back to the main lab three doors down.

Okay, have the gloves, the dishes, the sponges, and the media. But the tissue culture room is out of the 25 mL "stripettes". Yet another trip three doors down - damnitt!!

After three trips to the main lab doubled the time it took to do this one last task after a long day in the tissue culture room. Only on a Monday

feeling like a Monday

My day started off finding out that the twin study isn't going to happen.

Then with it being the first day of classes at the University, the drive in sucked something fierce. It'll get better in about three weeks. And I'm going to have to go to main campus to pickup some dry ice - that's going to be a picnic.

Finally, the main elevator isn't accepting my ID card to call the elevator. At least I know it's not just mine, so I guess I'm still allowed to work here.

At least it didn't seem to rain here like it did at my place this morning, so I don't have to worry about leaks.
