Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

Class-action lawsuit time

Okay, not really. I hate when people jump on the class-action bandwagon after they were on a medication that was later proved to have complications.

For example, Othro Evra. I was on it for about nine months. I began to hear possible reports of blood clots. Pushing 30, I began to question if it was the best choice for me.

The clincher was the problems I was having with the patch application. I think it had a lot to do with the years of the Duragesic ruining my skin (it got to the point of open skin sores under the patch). But the Othra Evra patch began to actually bunch up. Once it just fell off a couple days before I was supposed to take it off!

Plus the hormones were making me crazy. The first week of being on the patch after my period, I was an emotional wreck.

So when I went to my annual appointment, I complained about the problems I was having. My NP switched me that day to a different type of birth control. Much happier - less hormones, and no patch application.

Does this mean I still can't sue Othra-Evra?

The lost world

This is kinda cool. They recreated what the dodo looked like and created images of them in their natural habitat. Not too bad considering it's been 150 years since they walked around.

You can check out more images, and the backstory to the images here.

Where's the anti-abortion people now?

It's a tragedy this is going on.

So, are those people who were so anti-abortion, anti-stem cell going to do anything about it?

Probably not - they're too busy counting their riches.

Record Powerball

Yup, the highest jackpot ever will be drawn this Saturday.

The odds are so against you winning, it'd be stupid to buy a ticket(s). Still might if there's no line to do so.

However, if you're itching for punishment, and don't live near a Powerball state, you can contact me. I'll send my PayPal address, and buy tickets for you.

(as long as I get a comission if you win) ;)

Days like this

Days like today just make me wish I could have stayed in bed until noonish.

It's dark, gloomy, and overcast. Anywhere else in the country, it'd rain (or snow).

But we're in a drought. The rain dries up before it gets to us lowely creatures on the ground.

Cruel and unusual punishment.

The cookies are coming

That's actually the headline I've seen and heard all morning. Yup, if you ordered your girl scout cookies, they will be here soon.

Too bad every single cookie they make has wheat flour in it.

They taste like cardboard anyway, why not use rice flour instead of wheat flour?
