Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

hurricane yawn

I can talk roasting my ass off in Arizona. It'd be an act of God to have a hurricane come to my door.

But what I haven't seen in the media is that the Pacific hurricane started a year ago. The first named storm has appeared and disappeared.

But the amount of rain from a hurricane can visit us here; hasn't happened in about 15 years. But if it does, it'll do damage worse than the New Orleans flooding because it'll be raging rivers of water instead of the slow creaping rise of water.

Not that I'm rapidly checking my flood insurance policy....

banning abortions won't help

I'm pro choice. I get annoyed at people that are calling the "morning after pill" an abortion. Abortion deals with implanted fertilized eggs. If you prevent implantation, it's not a pregnancy. Thus, you can't call it an abortion.

I also am in favor of using fertilized eggs for stem cell research if they're leftovers from in vitro procedures that will be thrown away anyway. I don't consider it a life - it was otherwise destined for a fate in the autoclave for proper biohazard disposal. Should we start arresting those that properly dispose of fertilized eggs as murderers?

I came across this article today. It made me laugh a bit.

Basically the "rhythm method" that is favored by some religions as birth control could be killing off more fertilized eggs than any other birth control method used.

file under creepy

I had heard about this last week. It's now gaining steam in the blogsphere.

A decendant of Geronimo claims he has proof that the current president's great-grandfather stole the skull and femur of Geronimo as part of the skull and bones organization.

Why in the world would anyone want the bones of Geronimo in the first place? Weird....

Don't take my word for it, read about it here.
