Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

bad me

Okay, I didn't drop off the face of the world, but close.

Boyfriend has been to visit a few times. Would much rather snuggle with him than have the laptop in the lap.

Working the hardware store has been fun. Most everyone is nice, and they've already given me some lower management stuff. Which is a bit hard when there's others that have been working there a lot longer than I have. I've already dealt with a bit of resentment, but I just do what I've done in the past - work harder to prove myself that I'm worthy of any recognition. I survived setting up the sales stuff for March sales doing most of it by myself since we were short staffed.

Lots of overtime the last few weeks. Hate the long hours, but the extra money is coming in handy.

I'm going to write up a summary of things you can hear in a hardware store without getting slapped.

On the scientific front, I got an interview Tuesday with a type 2 researcher. It's using a lot of my previous skills but in a different field. They're going to check my references tomorrow, so I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that I really do get this job. I'm hoping I could do a bit of part time at the hardware store in case I need to go back there this summer.

Dad's pretty sick now. He still has some hair left, but can no longer eat or drink anything without it coming right back up on him. So lying down to sleep is impossible as well. He's having a NG tube put in tomorrow morning. He got a week off chemo for his problems, but they'll start up again in full force once the tube is put in.

Boyfriend has been accepted to NAU for school. Not sure if this is the best, but worth a long winded rant about it. NAU does have a biosciences department now, and looking for someone at the same level I was in at the University of Arizona. Same pay at the U of A, but I heard the cost of living is much more than in Tucson. So not sure if I could make it work out there.

Celiac has been doing pretty good. I'm eating things with oat flour and not having any problems. I bring in my own Kinninnick doughnuts to work on Saturday to counter the free doughnuts people brought in. Those willing to try it have been impressed.
