Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

the interloper strikes again

I bitched and moaned enough, and they finally replaced the screen for the living room window. Just in time to enjoy a nice weekend.

Much to my dismay, the screen was half pulled out when I got home. To add to the destruction, a new hole in the same place as the one that was in the screen I had replaced.

Darn cat. Your ability to come and court my cats is admirable. But you're pissing me off - stop ruining my screens!

crappy technologies

I'm counting down the days when I can turn in this cell phone for an evenier crappier one.

My biggest gripes of this phone:

1.) Reception. It sucks. Of course since the cell phone company has a tower on their building, it's always great when I take it in. But I got seriously pissed off when another person with the same cell phone company had coverage and mine kept going in and out. The new tower hiding in the palm tree isn't doing a lick of good.

2.) Battery. I usually doll out the extra money to buy a bigger battery. I didn't this time. I usually have a charger handy, so it hasn't been a big problem. But it hangs out forever on the last bar of strength. Then will cry when I get a call. Then go back to one bar when the call is over with. It's done this for 2 days, but usually can squeak by one day before it'll completely die from lack of power.

3.) System. It's slower than my 386 runnning Windows 3.1

My biggest complement of this phone:

It's semi-indestructable. I lost a flip phone screen due to a couple phone drops and useage. I chose something that wasn't a flip phone. I've dropped it a few times, but you couldn't tell by looking at it. The only obvious thing is the antenna top just broke off last weekend.

can only do so much

Wednesday was a long day at work. 11.5 hours later, I was limping to the car and eventually home. My lower back was very sore, and I felt run down.

Thursday, I woke up. The back wasn't doing too bad, but my stomach was hurting something fierce. I also had a major flare-up of the TN pain. Decided to throw in the towel and call in sick.

Tried to eat, and my stomach would speak in protest. Loud noises I never heard before. I eventually would throw up what I tried to eat.

So I rested a lot, and still went to bed early. I was still puking up to before I went to bed. But I have stuff at work that I can't put off for another day. So I'm at work.

Hopefully I can go back home after the meeting.
