Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

Last night dinner followup

Okay, after reheating last nights leftovers of the beef stroganoff, I give my super kudos to this dinner mix by Mrs. Leepers. The noodles retained their consistancy, and were still yummy. They kind of remind me of egg noodles, but are supposed to be rice noodles.

I only hope that I can find just plain rice noodles for some of my dinners.

Weathering it out....

I've noticed that for years, a change in the weather could really affect my pain. I guess I'm fortunate to live in a part of the country where there's sunshine 330 days a year. Today, however, is an overcast day. Though it's supposed to be 110 degrees again (like yesterday). First of all, with this many clouds overhead, how is it possible to get that hot?

We'll see if the pain magically gets better this afternoon when the potential storms move in. Until then, I'm just trying not to throw up....

UPDATE:
Eventually lost the battle and did start throwing up late this afternoon. Got home by 4:30 and just collapsed on my bed. Slept until 7:00, with only a short interruption to confirm that it was raining somewhat heavy at my place. I woke up, and the pain was 99% gone. So I don't know if the pain was due to the weather, or simply from poor sleep the night before. But I survived today, and recovered quickly. So I'm fortunate that this pain lasts for hours instead of weeks.

Way to go Tiffany

Last night I posted about how Tiffany Williamson was at the ESPN's featured table. She was very short stacked on chips, so I was pretty sure it was mostly for ratings to have her at the table. I am pleased to report that she is holding her own quite well:

Wonder what a BBQ G3 would taste like

Instead of tearing out my hair, I'm just imagining having a BBQ and cooking this G3 until it is no more. But even that would be too easy of an out for a machine that is just driving me crazy.

I need some serious suggestions here - I'm fresh out. Backed up the drive, rezeroed the drive, setup new partitions, and install Mac OS 9.2.2 Everything seems to be going well. I put the data back on the drive. Unfortunately because the Firewire Disk Startup feature doesn't work on this machine, the only way I can "easily" do this is by using a cross-over cable between this G3 and a G4 (where the data is stored). The files seem to transfer back quicker than when I had to put them on the G4. So, feeling very optimistic, I unplug the G3 from the G4, and move it to its real home, twenty-five feet away.

But in its real home, the G3 won't startup. It started up fine parked next to the G4 (several times in fact). So now I'm scratching my head as to why a change of location would cause this. My first guess is that there were files on the machine that when I copied them back screwed it up (even though the G4 can handle such file with no problem).

Suggestions????
