Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

happy and sad

Boyfriend called tonight. His one day off a week, and he called even though we had talked via email for hours earlier in the day.

He tells me I can call whenever I want to. I haven't yet. I don't want to bother him when he's on the job (which is six days a week 9-10 hours a day). Then on his one day off, he has to do laundry, shopping, etc. Including sleeping in.

So for him to call me to say that he wanted to hear my voice and that he missed me, that meant a lot to me. (That sure is one way to get a girl into a slobbering fool.) Still no "L" word, but I don't know if he's waiting until we are physically together again, or he just can't say it. I get the gist of it anyway.

Speaking of getting together, it's going to be the middle of March (again). He was hoping it was after the first week, but it's been postponed to when I originally thought it was going to be. I'll be sad tomorrow - I spent the first five weeks thinking it was going to be the middle of March, then last week told early March. So I've spent more time thinking mid-March than early March. Not a big deal, but I still miss him like crazy.

yum and half

My boss gives us a gift certificate to See's candy for Christmas every year. It's for a pound of candy. Not a great gift, but at least we get a little something.

I finally got it filled Thursday. I got some dark chocolate caramels, and various truffles. The raspberry were pretty good. I was disappointed with the blueberries. The mint were okay - but had to eat them first because the mint smell would have gotten to everything.

But my absolute favorite are the apple pie truffles. Which was surprising since I'm not a big fan of white chocolate, but these were so good. They were a bit filling, and not very chocolatey. Best of all, it didn't cause any trouble with my celiac.

I'm going to have to buy more of the apple truffles when I need to treat myself.

As seen on TV

I've seen some silly things on TV. The PetVac is one of them.

Their schitch is that it has a very long tube so you can hook it up to your vacuum cleaner in the next room. Umm, all I have to do is move my vacuum cleaner to make my cats run in terror.

The cat that was modeled looked sedated.

And I have a commercial vacuum cleaner with amazing suction force. Plus it is a static nightmare when it's on. I'd be afraid of shocking my kitties.

If I could get them near the PetVac in the first place.

Cat and couch game

I wish I had my camera to illustrate this.

Magnum likes the end of the couch where I keep a pillow. If I want to stretch out on the couch, that's where I put my head. The pillow makes for a great cat magnet.

To try and keep the fluff and fur off my pillow, I put a down throw across the couch. I guess it's too warm for them, so they sleep other places.

This morning, I was cold (again). So I grabbed the throw to try and keep me warm. Then I sit on the couch and do some emailing. Before I could do a double take, Magnum is sleeping on the pillow.

I bother him enough, and he leaves. Then Adira decides it's a good resting place.

Bother her enough to make her leave. Then Magnum decides to take a long snooze on the pillow.

While most people hear snoring, he's really laughing.
