Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

Start pouring

*ugh* My boss is sucking last bits of joy out of wrapping things up. Word and I had a falling out that continued until lunchbreak. Then it finally started to cooperate.

Left the prinout on his desk since he was still at lunch. Ninety minutes later while I was on dinner run he called me. Left the phone in the living room while on dinner run so listened to his message.

"I can't read parts of the figures. Please fix it."

Why couldn't we have been addressing these issues like a week before the grant is due and not the evening before MY LAST DAY? My last day is essentially the day before the grant is due.

Give it up, okay. You can't pull a fundable grant out of your ass in a week.

It was kind of cruel irony that my last day is his 60th birthday. So our clinical nurse is planning his birthday party and my farewll as well. Needless to say that even if nothing was going to happen for a farewell for me, we'd be celebrating his birthday. So I'm not going to get a full eight hours in on this grant.

So I'm just drinking my vodka to chill. I finished the budgets, and will try and plead with Word to resize the figures without a major memory letdown. Then I'm washing my hands of these unrealistic expectations. Then going to a luau.

At least the neighbor guy helped me carry my box of stuff from the lab up the stairs at the end of the day.
