Obese pets
It's official:
As the percentage of people that are overweight, now the trend is reflected in our pets. An estimated 20% of dogs and cats are obese.
As a owner of a fat cat - Magnum last tipped the scale at 21 pounds, I admit that part of the blame falls to me for letting it get that bad. What did I do wrong - bring a new cat into the house. Magnum's a big Mama's boy, and having to give way to a more dominant cat, he turned to food for comfort. Magnum's been tested for four years for diabetes, and seems to be healthy.
He seems to be a big thinner since he chases Adira around the house trying to beat on her. But I haven't weighed him to be certain.
