Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

Don't hold your breath

Wal-Mart and Target are now in a "price war" over some prescription drugs.

Generics for things like diabetes and high blood pressure seem to be on the list.

Yet people on the neuralgia listserv are excited about the news. Especially since quite a few of them don't have insurance.

I don't have the heart to say it to them, so I'll just say it here:

Don't hold your breath. There's not many generics for the anti-epileptics that we take. And there's no generic for Lidoderm, Actiq (yet), and Duragesic. Even when a generic for Actiq is available, it won't be for $4.

Too bad there's not enough of us to lobby for more generics. The type 2 diabetics and people with high blood pressure simply outnumber us.
