Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

Cooler head

Okay, I had forgotten to mention something else that was bugging the heck out of me yesterday. Yesterday was day 2 of my tongue feeling like a fuzzy coated numbness. I noticed over lunch that I wasn't tasting salty things, and I have to slow down when speaking so that people can understand what I'm trying to say.

I figured that since this was the second day it happened, and this was the second day after taking a nighttime pill to help my itching. I've already noticed a postive effect.

I knew I had to go to the pharamacy to pick up a script that is for the PLMD. I would ask the pharamist about the numbness while I was there.

Of course, this medication for the PLMD is the highest co-pay *sobs* But I even remembered to ask the pharamist about the numbness. She pulled out the map like page that comes with the medicine. After a few minutes, she told me "it reports numbness as a side effect, but it doesn't specify where."

So I'm not going to worry, it's just the medication. Maybe it'll get better as I get used to the medication.

And for some reason, my doctor that wrote me the script for the PLMD gave me a couple sample bottles of the medication in 75mg form. He told me to try one at night, and go up to two if needed. After a week, I had to go up to two pills at night. So far, that seems to be working. The script is for 150mg, so he must have known that I would need to go up to the 150mg dose. The best news is that while it's the highest co-pay, he wrote it for three times a day, but told me take it only at night with a ;-) So this bottle will last me three months.

The bad news is that this medication for the PLMD is an anti-epileptic. I swore to myself that I wouldn't go back on anti-epileptics EVER again. But I can live with only taking it at night I suppose....
