Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

I have a good excuse

Greetings from Fountain Hills. Yes my Mom's wireless is up and running.

Wow, it's been that long since I posted.

I am always busy trying to get out of town trying to do last minute stuff. Then I still had to work the AM of the 22nd. My best friend in Tucson was late getting to work to exchange gifts. Then it took me forever to find a place to make extra housekey for the cat sitting neighbor. So when I had been hoping to arrive to my matchmaker friend's house at 2:00 - 3:00 PM, it was really 4:30 PM.

Then she went into labor on the 23rd. Three and half hours later, their son was born. That's right, she claimed she didn't feel real contractions until her water broke, and then three and half hours later, her first child was born. He's little, squirmy, and with a small chin. But they think he's adorable and the cutest baby they've ever seen (naturally).

So boyfriend and I had to do the house stuff like cooking dinner, laundry, and cleaning. Had help from one set of new grandparents (the others showed up on Christmas Day).

The new parents came home Christmas Day. The hospital would keep the baby in the nursery until it was feeding time, so the night of the 25th was a long night for everyone in the house because they didn't know what to do about the crying baby.

Much to my surprise, the grandmothers aren't tossing out suggestions on what to do about it. Probably a good thing since a house with two grandmothers in at the same time can start a turf war. But it meant the rest of us were waking up every few hours too.

I drove down to Fountain Hills late yesterday afternoon to be greeted with lots of presents. I even got presents from the new grandparents, which is way cool.

Basically this holiday has been stretched out over many days. Since the 23rd when the baby was born to last night. No wonder I'm so fricking tired.

My Mom had to go to meeting. So I am left wondering what to do. I think I'll go to a movie in a little bit, then take a nap. Stayed up late last night being a sympathetic ear to my sister, and was woken up at 6:15 AM to the phone ringing (separate post).
