Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

Will it come to this someday?

The latest GAO report summed up their latest findings of entering the US using fake IDs: Border Insecurity.

I mentioned it to boyfriend while we were chatting last night. I said that Border Patrol needs it simplified - everyone needs a passport.

Boyfriend commented that passports can be faked.

I looked into getting a passport. It's going to cost $97. For that much money, there'd better be some good security in it.

The foolproof security would be to have an implant like they have for pets. If they can hack voting machines, I'm sure they can hack the chips also.

Boyfriend went even further. Not only do you have to get the implant, but you must update it every year. It could be like an ATM machine. Scan your chip, and verify everything's current. If you don't, a tiny bomb goes off.

What's the answer for a fool-proof way to verify you are who you claim to be? Is it a future like GATTCA where everything requries a DNA scan? They faked that system too. Other biometric measurements such as retinal or fingerprint scans? MIT students can fool fingerprint scans already.

How should we prove we are who we say we are?
