Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

Why isn't he President?

Last night, my feelings that John McCain should have been President in 2000 were validated. While I consider myself more of a Democrat than a Republican, I would have voted for McCain if he was the Republican nominee.

McCain gathered seven Republicans and seven Democrats and held them in his office until a compromise was reached. This compromise will most likely increase the positive feelings for the Senate because he managed to avoid a stalemate. If there was a gridlock in the Senate, I most likely would have blamed the President for being stubborn in not offering an alternative to the controversial judges.

The bipartisan cooperation that McCain was able to generate shows far more leadership than the President. I feel as if our current President feels he's there for his own adgenda, and "come hell or high water" it'll happen. I don't appreciate that view of politics. I tend to believe that politics means you have to work with others you don't agreee with.

And I'm not saying all of this good stuff about McCain because he is from Arizona ;)

BTW: A&E TV will air the story of John McCain of his time as a POW Monday night (in honor of Memorial Day). The time of 8:00 PM is sticking in my mind, but check your local listings.
