Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

Thanks for telling me before I actually showed up.

As a great excuse to bail work early to get my tail into Phoenix, I proposed going to drop off samples and tissues to our project collaborators. It'd still be cheaper than having to send three boxes. Worked like a charm.

Then I get an e-mail late last night from the collaborator I was going to see first. It was basically "Oh, by the way, we moved our lab". Fortunately for me, it's even closer to the second destination, so I'll be going out of my way even less than anticipated. Which means, I'll get to the second place quicker, thus ending my day even sooner.

Which gives me more time to deal with Phoenix traffic. Unfortunately the second stop is close to downtown Phoenix, and every time I had to go there, I made sure to take someone with me to drive the carpool lane (otherwise you're stuck bascially parked). And Fridays are notorious for having rush hour start early.

Then when I get to Peoria, the road widening project near my boyfriend's house makes for hellish traffic. He told me last night it took him an hour to get through the one and half mile construction zone.

Oh well, that's why they invented iPods I guess. If I run through my eight hours of country music, I'll get out and walk.
