Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

warm fuzzy feeling

The last few Saturday nights, Fox Sports Net Arizona has been running "classic" football games. All but one involved the University of Arizona (the other Arizona State University). Tonight is last year's duel in the desert (Arizona State University v. Arizona). Every year it's played at the other teams home field. Last year was in Arizona Stadium, and was a bright light to an otherwise dismal season, especially upsetting the ranked Arizona State team that should have kicked Arizona's tail into next year.

Why is the duel in the desert such a big deal? The territorial cup of course. It was first awarded in 1899, lost for decades, and re-discovered in 2001. That makes it the oldest trophy still around in college football (in case that ever becomes a trivia question).

And yes, these classic games were Arizona wins. Nothing like such a situtation to bring back the warm fuzzy feelings.
