Summer blockbusters
I try and pride myself on the fact that I can avoid the lemmings when it comes to the latest hit movie. Sure, I'll go see it if it's decent (like StarWars: Revenge of the Sith). But I only saw Elektra because Mr. San Diego slipped it in with some other movies he thought I should watch. I think I one-uped him by loaning him the extended versions of The Lord of the Rings movies.
I enjoyed Batman Begins, and though Fantastic Four was so-so. But considering the price of movies these days, I'm not willing to part with that much of my hard earned money unless I think it's worth it. So when a new movie comes out, I read a lot of reviews. I had pretty much decided to pass on The Dukes of Hazard, but I thought I'd share a funny quote I got from this review:
The Dukes of Hazzard is no damn good, but for $10, it’s cheaper than a Vegas lap dance, and probably just as sensual.
I AM however, looking foward to The Constant Gardener, but still have about three weeks until that hits the theatres.
