Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

Nothing gradual about AZ weather

This is bringing back memories of May. The week before my boss' reserach award night, it had been in the low to mid 90's for a high temperature. Then days before, the forecast suddenly jumped to 105 for the night of the award ceremony. It was a black tie event, and having to drive across town was something I didn't easily forget.

Sunday, the high temperatures for the afternoon was the low 90's, almost a ten degree drop. But the most pleasant surprise was that the low temperature was in the low 60's. I suppose tonight I should give in and open the back door. Combined with the open windows, it'll cool off quite nicely in the morning. Besides, my cats will love having a chance to spend the night lounging on the back patio.

But it isn't as bad as Chicago has been this year. In June, we had a 20 degree temperature drop overnight, and the night before last, there was a 15 degree drop in the temperature.
