Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

Storm pictures

Yesterday was different. Starting around 2:00, you couldn't help but notice the dark clouds to the south (with the little bit of south view we still have left anyway). It's strangely hypnotic to watch the clouds get darker and coming closer.

Then you'll start to see lightning. Can't hear the thunder in the building.

All that show, and about two minutes of rain here. But the airport got 0.3" of rain. These storms are very spotty.

After that, it turned into a microburst by Marana. Knocked down yet more power poles. Gusts of wind reported at 60 mph.

I talked to my Mom in Phoenix. She said that the Phoenix reporters had been sent to Marana and reporting "live". One airhead said the gusts were at 100 mph. The other station said "while some are reporting gusts of 100 mph, they're more at 45 mph." *doh!*

But whatever moisture in the clouds was long dried up by the time the storm made its way to Phoenix. So Phoenix got an impressive dust storm. I "borrowed" these pictures from Phoenix's Channel 12; most are from their helicopter that was in the air.
