Life of a former witch

I've outgrown my wicked witch of the west ways. Reflections of life afterwards, living in the desert with two cats, friends, family, and my hot and cold love life.

Jerk of the week

I know some other people on other blogs use stronger words than that. But I'm trying to keep the cuss words to a minimum. So without any further ado, here's the jerk of the week:

YUMA - A man has been jailed in Yuma in connection with a string of arson fires that were set Wednesday along about a 50-mile stretch of Interstate 8 between Gila Bend and Yuma.

The Yuma County sheriff's office said a suspect and vehicle description provided by a witness led to the arrest of 42-year-old James Edward Rafferty. He was pulled over by DPS on I-8 in Yuma.

Following questioning by sheriff's detectives from both Yuma County and Maricopa County, Rafferty was booked for investigation of arson and burning of wildlands.

DPS said there were 15 to 20 fires, the largest of which charred 100 acres. All were put out.

The Yuma sheriff's office said one person died while fighting one of the fires. KTAR said the victim was on a ride-along with members of the Gila Bend volunteer fire department and suffered a heart attack.

Wonder if they'll get him for negligent homicde since someone died fighting the fires....
